Briefly highlight your key campaign issues and positions.
Environmental and water protection - I will apply science base policies and will enforce regulations to help maintain clean water.

Consumer protections - I will appoint a Deputy Commissioner just to overseeing Consumer Services. This will allow for improved consumer protection when it comes to food safety, gas pump inspection, Do Not Call list, etc.

Grow our economy - I will grow help our farmers with resources, investment in research for citrus greening, and education on the latest technology for growers. I will also protect our environment and water, which will help with tourism and help create jobs.

Should your office's duties regulating firearm ownership be transferred to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement?
Explain your position on which agency should oversee firearms ownership.
I am not satisfied with how the Department of Agriculture handled the Concealed Weapon License. Our current Commissioner is an NRA sellout and this has resulted in 13 months of NO background check. Moving the Concealed Weapon License to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will ensures a thorough background check by law enforcement officials. It will also link the Concealed Weapon Permit (under Ag Commissioner) with gun purchase (under FDLE).
Should the agriculture commissioner become an advocate for renegotiating NAFTA?
Explain your position on renegotiating NAFTA.
I believe in NAFTA but more favorable conditions to our farmers can be obtained with a renegotiation. As Commissioner, I will fight for our farmers against cheap import of goods and encourage favorable export of our crops and goods.
Would you support moving consumer services into a separate agency?
Explain your position on moving consumer services out of the agriculture department.
The Consumer Services department has been neglected since moved under the Department of Agriculture. In order to have better oversight, we need a Commissioner that will concentrate on consumer protection. This lack of oversight is why we have excessive spam call, skimmer problem, and lack of food safety inspectors. If elected, I plan on elevating consumer protection and appoint a Deputy Commissioner for Consumer Services on day one.
